Rockler Bow Tie Inlay Starter Kit With Frame, Bit And Bushing

Cutting bow tie inlays can get pretty complicated with all the angles and mortising. Luckily, our Bow Tie Inlay Template System makes cutting both key and mortise fast and foolproof. The kit includes a unique, two-piece bushing. Install the sleeve to rout the mortise; remove it to rout the bow tie key (sometimes called a butterfly key). Since the same template is used for both, you’re guaranteed a perfect fit. The kit includes our acrylic frame, which holds the template in place while you rout, and provides a surface for your router to ride on. The cutout in the frame is sized to accept the two included bow tie templates: one 3-5/8” long, the other one 4-1/4” long. It also accepts any of our optional Inlay Template Kits. A specially-sized 1/8” router bit is also included to work with the bushing. Templates up to 3/8” thick may be cut with the router bit.
